One Minute Coach

Quick, practical coaching insights to improve your coaching in 60 seconds or less

By Isaac Leung, Athletic Skills

Hey reader,

One Idea:
Power, speed, and strength don’t start in the gym—they start on the field. Athletes need movement quality before they need equipment.

One Practical Example:
Movement Quality = Free gym. Try this 5-minute field-based acceleration series:

  • Wall March / Switch (2 × 10)

  • Partner Resisted Run over 5-10m x 3-5 (Use Resistance Band if you have access)

  • 3 - 5 × 5-10m accelerations from different start positions.

One Action This Week:
Add a 5-minute “acceleration focus” to the end of your warm using just cones and bands if you have access. No expensive equipment needed. Focus on intent and moving fast.
